We are pleased to announce that Cheyne Capital has obtained the building permit for the Märkisches Zentrum / Märkisches Quartier, a major new-build project located at the heart of the district centre of Berlin’s Märkisches Viertel in Berlin-Reinickendorf.
The permit covers approximately 55,000 sqm of net lettable area for a new urban quarter, comprising 690 residential apartments across five buildings, including two high-rise buildings with 19 and 12 floors, respectively, with around 45,000 sqm of residential space and approximately 10,000 sqm of retail space on the ground floors.
We are very grateful to the Reinickendorf district and its administration for the excellent and constructive collaboration throughout the process. We would also like to thank Laborgh Investment GmbH and ioo Architekten for their incredible work.
The Märkisches Zentrum project is of fundamental importance to us. It underlines our long-term commitment to Berlin and to Germany as a whole. We look forward to further expanding our activities and continuing to invest in impactful projects on both the equity and debt sides across the country.
